Earnings & payouts
Yes — clipper payouts are sent net of a 15% platform fee (10% once you’re a verified creator). Brands pay a separate fee of 8% (6% verified) on what they actually spend. The fee covers Stripe processing, organic-reach verification, and the engineering behind the campaign board.
As soon as a clip’s earnings are final. We check every 15 minutes and send everything you have that’s final once it adds up to $1 or more. You can cash out any amount sooner from Earnings.
Yes. A flat-fee or per-post clip is final the moment the brand approves it. A per-1K-views clip keeps earning until its earning window ends (each campaign sets its own; 7 days from posting if it doesn’t), the brand finalises it, or the campaign closes. Reaching the campaign’s max per clip stops it earning more. Once it’s final, the payout goes automatically to the bank account you connected to Stripe. We check every 15 minutes, and you can cash out sooner from Earnings.
Usually one of these: the clip is still earning, so nothing is final yet; it hasn’t reached the campaign’s minimum earnings; everything you have ready adds up to less than $1, the floor for automatic payouts (you can cash out any amount yourself from Earnings); your Stripe setup isn’t finished; the brand has flagged the clip for review; or the campaign is on hold over a payment dispute. Stripe can hold a first payout for 7–14 days or longer depending on your country. After that, payouts usually land in about two business days.
Yes. If you earned money while the campaign was live, those earnings remain claimable after the campaign closes. You won’t earn on new views once a campaign is over.
It’s the cap a brand places on a single clip’s earnings. Once your clip hits that ceiling, additional views won’t add to your payout for that submission.
Per-1K-views campaigns can set a minimum a clip must earn before it’s paid. It’s in the campaign details, and says “Any amount” if there isn’t one.
Account linking & requirements
Go to Settings → Connected accounts and add your handle. To prove it’s yours, put the code we give you in that account’s bio. Use Add another for more accounts on the same platform. Supported: TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, Twitch and Facebook.
It proves the account is yours, so only your own posts can be submitted. TikTok, YouTube and Instagram views are read automatically. On a per-1K-views campaign, Facebook and Twitch views are entered by the brand when it approves the clip; X views we try to read, and the brand enters them if we can’t.
Yes, as long as every account you submit from is verified on your profile.
No. Submissions must come from public profiles so we can read the views. A post on a private account can’t be verified, so it won’t be paid.
No. Obscure Exhibit is open — sign up, link your accounts, and start submitting. There is no waitlist, no application, and no follower minimum.
Participating in campaigns
Browse the campaign board, pick a campaign that fits your style, follow its treatment, post your clip, and submit the link. Once the brand approves it and its earnings are final, you’re paid through Stripe.
Anyone with a public social account. No follower count or posting history needed. To get paid you need a payout account that works in your country; the campaign page tells you if yours isn’t covered.
No. On per-1K campaigns you’re paid on views; on per-post and flat-fee campaigns you’re paid for each approved clip. Your follower count never matters.
Only for getting paid. Payouts go through Stripe, which doesn’t reach every country. The campaign page tells you if yours isn’t covered. Campaigns don’t have region rules.
The Explore page — every live campaign with funded budget is listed there.
CPM is “cost per mille”: the dollar amount you earn per 1,000 verified views. Most music and entertainment campaigns price by CPM; others pay per post, a flat fee, or a share of a pool.
Submitting clips
Verify the account you posted from (Settings → Connected accounts), open the campaign, paste your link, tick the box, and press Submit for approval. The brand reviews it from there.
There’s no limit per creator. A brand can cap a campaign’s total submissions; the campaign page shows it if so.
You can, but the brand sees when it was posted, and a clip from before the campaign started is marked for them. Brands often reject clips that weren’t made for their campaign.
Not at the same time: a clip can only be live on one campaign. If it was rejected, you can submit it again.
Submit the correct one. Only approved clips earn, so the bad submission will simply be left unreviewed or rejected — it doesn’t cost you anything.
Review process & clip status
Common reasons: it broke the campaign’s creative guidelines, the audio/asset usage didn’t match the treatment, the clip failed organic-reach verification (botted views, click-farm patterns), or it contained content the brand flagged as inappropriate.
A brand can flag a clip it thinks has fake views. Its payout is paused while our team reviews it, and then it’s approved or rejected. Bot scores are a guide for the brand; they don’t block an approval.
The brand has it but hasn’t reviewed it yet. Larger campaigns can take a few days to get through their queue.
It varies by brand. Most reviews land within 1–3 business days; high-volume campaigns can run longer.
Posting platforms
Each campaign picks its platforms from TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, YouTube Shorts, X, Facebook and Twitch, and some accept links from other sites. The campaign page lists them.
No, they’re separate. A campaign accepts YouTube, YouTube Shorts, or both. Check its platforms before you post.
